SUMMER
Welsh Kennel holds a Championship dog show in August every year. It is visited annually by thousands of dogs, exhibitors and the general public. The show classifies all of the UK Kennel Club registered breeds, rare breeds and import register breeds, as well as holding other canine disciplines such as dogs competing in agility classes and championship level obedience. Everyone is welcome, even a spectator dog at a small administrative charge.

WINTER
Welsh Kennel Club hosts the Welsh Top Dog and Welsh Top Puppy Two annual competitions held in November of each year. Residing in Wales 64 of the top winning dogs compete in a knockout style competition to declare an overall winner, under two secret judges only revealed on the night! The competitions are followed with an evening of raising money for charities, great food, good wine and dancing until the small hours with friends.

ALL YEAR
Delegated by The Kennel Club to issue the licences for companion dog shows being held throughout all of Wales, here you will find the latest information for events to visit every weekend. As canine activities continue to flourish around us, on our agility pages, you will find contacts and links to help you learn more. There is also a brief synopsis on Field Trials, and Obedience to hopefully cover the most popular of these activities.

THE WELSH KENNEL CLUB 2021 CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with deep regret that after careful consideration that the Welsh Kennel Club is today announcing the cancellation of its 20th to 22nd August 2021 Championship Show which was to be held on the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society Showground in Builth Wells.
Recent announcements by the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society resulting from the current Welsh Government restrictions, as set out in the ‘Coronavirus Control Plan’ and the various Alert Levels dictate that it is impossible to hold large events on the RWAS Showground this summer.
The Showground is being utilised as a Covid Testing and Vaccination Centre and this, combined with restrictions on attendance numbers and the associated 2 metre social distancing rules, are collectively major barriers to the viability of the running of a Covid safe Welsh Kennel Club 3 day Championship Show.
The Welsh Kennel Club greatly appreciates the support of its Members, Judges, Stewards, helpers and exhibitors and regret that there is no alternative to making this difficult decision.
We look forward to returning to normality in 2022 where we will celebrate the return of our show and 55 years since the revival of the Welsh Kennel Club.

Joint Secretary, The Welsh Kennel Club.
