I have been involved with dogs all my life and have a special interest in breeds
within the Hound, Gundog, Pastoral & Working Groups. My interest in Borzoi began in 1965 and I have bred/exhibited numerous Borzoi Champions. I have served on many Canine and Breed Club Committees and have been a serving Member of the Welsh Kennel Club Committee for in excess of 40 years. I am Joint Secretary of the Welsh Kennel Club, President of the Gundog Society of Wales, President of the Rottweiler Club of Wales, and President of the Working & Pastoral Breeds of Wales. I have been a serving member of The Kennel Club Board of Directors for the past 16 years, a member of the Judges Committee and the Royal Kennel Club Show Executive Committee, and a Crufts Main Ring Commentator. I have previously served on the Kennel Club General Committee between 1992-1998 and during that time, I also served on the Kennel Club Disciplinary Sub-Committee. I am approved to award Challenge Certificates in 48 breeds and to judge the Hound, Pastoral & Working Groups, and Best In Shows.
I first walked in to a show ring in June 1977 with an Old English Sheepdog, was awarded First place, and have been involved in showing dogs ever since. We have owned Shih Tzu’s for 37 years and have made up Champions in the Breed, we also have Dachshunds under the Carlita Affix. I am a very proud Welsh speaking member of The Welsh Kennel Club Committee.
Usually in the Secretary's office, assisting, 2023 will be my 15th year. Known for our Pembroke Corgis. We have bred and exhibited since the early 1970s. The family joke is that I was born in a whelping box! I have awarded CCs all over the world in both breeds. I am currently a member of the KC, Treasurer of South Wales Corgi & the Corgi League.
Hi I am Will, most of you would know me from being one of the principal Canine specialist photographers for the past 17 years (2023) with Our Dogs Newspapers. I have been Officiating at WKC since 2015, and was delighted to be given the chance to join this Club, as living in Wales for almost all of my life and i grew up working the welsh land and rearing livestock. I was fortunate to be born into the dog show world (3rd Gen) and currently, my family and i exhibit Dachshunds (MIni Long) and American Cockers.
Hello, I’m Katie Louise Bradley.
I began showing dogs at the age of 5 years old, “got the bug” and I’ve never looked back since. Showing dogs is a family hobby, going back to my great grandfather. Handling dogs has always been a passion of mine and I’ve been lucky to handle some beautiful dogs across all the groups, made up champions and have the experience of showing my dogs abroad.
I have Borzois and Afghans so you are most likely to see me on Hound day but I love handling and enjoy showing many breeds across the seven groups.
I’ve judged junior handling, JHA and YKC classes at champ show level and enjoy helping and encouraging the younger generations in our hobby. That must be the teacher in me.
For many years I have been involved in other committees and I currently hold the role of Show Manager of a Premier Dog Show which I very much enjoy.
I’m a fluent Welsh speaker and I’m very proud to be Welsh so having the privilege of being invited onto the WKC committee was an honour and I’m excited to be a part of such an incredible committee.
Please don’t hesitate to come and say “Hi!” at the show. I’ll be more than happy to chat and help you in any way I can.
