Covid-19 Specific Risk Assessment.
- Each Stake has a specific Risk Assessment with Method Statement; this will be available on each day and must be read by all attending on the day.
Competitors.
- The Welsh Kennel Club will accept entries via email, steveadams121@hotmail.co.uk with a scanned entry form sent to Field Trial Secretary,
- Paper entries will be accepted for members without email facilities, and must include SAE.
- Payment of entry fees will be ON THE DAY ONLY, cheque or correct cash & must be in a sealed envelope, to be posted into the collection box at the trial, and opened at a later date after the field trial.
- If a competitor has more than one dog running, an appointed individual, ideally from their own household shall be willing to hold their additional dog. If this is not possible then the Club will nominate a designated person who will hold the dog using a sanitised lead and safety gloves provided by the Club.
- Other competitors or helpers shall not be used for this purpose. Competitors are required to notify the Field Trial Secretary electronically in advance, of the appointed person’s name, address and contact number for the Attendee Register.
- Competitors will not be required to wear a mask whilst handling a dog, but they should remain considerate when standing in close proximity to others. They should have available their own hand sanitizer to use at appropriate times.
- Competitors will be required to provide their own number for identification purposes. This does not need to be an armband but must be clearly visible to the judge when the competitor joins the line.
- Competitors should be aware that all communication, including the results of the draw and Running Card will be undertaken electronically. Those that send paper entrys, must include an SAE in order to receive draw result.
- Competitors will not receive a printed Running Card on the day. The Field Trail Secretary will issue an electronic copy of the Running order to each handler prior to the Field Trial. Updated cards will not be sent, and it will be for each attendee to mark their own card with any changes announced on the day.
- Certificates will be posted to any award winners by the Field Trial Secretary after the trial. It will be for each award winner to notify the Field Trial Secretary of their correct address at the conclusion of the Field Trial.
- Competitors should be aware the spectators are not permitted to attend.
- Competitors must be aware that if they, or anyone in their household, has Covid-19 related symptoms or gas tested positive for Covid-19 they must not attend the event, and should self isolate in line with Government advice.
- Competitors must not attend a Field Trial if they reside in an area covered by a lock down enforced by the Government.
- Competitors are asked to provide a game bag, in the event they are required to carry their own game.
- Any individual not following Government Guidelines, or who is deemed to be putting the safety of others at risk, will be asked to leave the trial ground.
- Entries – Note amendment; Regulation temporarily suspended/amended until February 2nd 2021 to Regulation J7.f – Should a competitor not be able to attend a trial due to them or a member of their household having Covid-19 symptoms or having tested positive for Covid-19 or if they reside in an area subject to a Government lock down, they will not be liable for entry fee, if they withdraw less than 7 days before the trial.
Parking.
- Vehicles must be parked with enough spacing between vehicles to ensure social distancing guidelines can be adhered to.
Judges.
- Judges books and copies of the current J Regulations must be provided by the judges on the day and only handled by them.
- Each judge must provide their own stationery (pencils & paper), which should not be shared with co-judges.
- In accordance with the Kennel Club’s Operational Plan for the resumption of Field Trails, game certificates will not be required to be completed and it will be assumed that the conditions of the stake were such as to enable the dogs to be satisfactorily tested. If this is not the case the Kennel Club Field Trial department must be notified within 7 days of the trial.
- Face coverings shall be worn during any conferring between judges.
- When handling game passed from a competitor, a face covering shall be worn by the judge and the judge’s steward and/or game carrier and should be undertaken at the maximum distance possible. Hands must be sanitized between passing each bird. Gloves may be worn, but would need to be changed and safely discarded following the passing of each bird to ensure no cross contamination.
- The Kennel Club are encouraging judges to submit online judges evaluation forms, via the Kennel Club website. Hard copy evaluation forms will not be provided.
Officials & helpers. Game carriers, judge’s stewards, flag carrier, picker-up, beaters, stops etc
- All equipment used must be the individuals own wherever possible, ( such as game bags, red flag, note books/clipboard, pencils etc) – if this is not possible then gloves must be worn and equipment must be thoroughly wiped down with provided antibacterial wipes after use.

Guns.
- Shotguns must be handled by the owner only and cartridges must not be transferred between individuals.
Transportation.
- Where possible, travel around the Field Trial shall be on foot, as this allows distancing to be maintained and reduces the risk to Covid-19 transmission. If using transport around the shoot, consideration shall be given for social distancing between passengers sitting side by side. Face masks shall be worn during the duration of the journey. More than one trip may be necessary to maintain social distancing.
Trophies.
- Must be returned a minimum of 1 month before the Field Trial. The trophy should be sanitized and bagged in a plastic bag and will be kept aside for a minimum of 72 hours prior to the trial.
Covid-19 Safety Officer.
- Covid-19 Safety Officer to be named at each field trial.
